Sport

Bizweni Primary Learners are encouraged to participate in physical activity, in order to develop a sense of their own self-image, self-esteem and to increase their confidence. Emphasis is placed on growing an understanding of the importance of good health, hygiene and safety. Learners are given opportunities to develop their gross motor skills, fine motor skills, control, mobility and awareness of space, by using large and small equipment, across all areas of learning, both indoors and outdoors.

Our extra-curricular sports program emphasizes the acquisition of basic sports skills, sportsmanship and group participation. Children have the freedom to learn, develop and ultimately excel without fear of failure or overwhelming pressure to perform. Our extra- curricular sports program includes the following:

Arts & Culture

We encourage and inspire our learners to develop their own unique talents and interests. Cultural awareness and appreciation thereof are deepened through the variety of Extra-Curricular activities and clubs that we offer.

Summer Clubs:

• Eco Club – Our learners are taught to cultivate and appreciate nature while raising awareness on conservational habits and lifestyles choices.

Clubs that run throughout the year:

• Dance and Drama – Learners learn a variety of different styles, including Hip-Hop, Modern, Ballet and Contemporary. Of the many benefits included are improvement in muscle tone, posture, balance, co-ordination, and fitness.
• Choir – Where children come together to sing songs, learn about music, and develop their singing skills, all while expressing themselves through the joy of music.
• Art Club – A place where imagination can thrive. Self-expression and creativity are the name of the game as learners explore various mediums and modes of artistic expression.
• Chess Club – Time to battle out strategies and mind games on the chess board. Come hone your skills and climb the school Leader board to see who the ultimate Bizweni Primary-School Chess-Master is. For grades 3-7 only.
• Book Club (Library Hour) – A quiet and tranquil space for the bookworms. Select a book from our library, sit back and dive right into one of your favourite stories.
